With the New Year rolling around the corner many of us are starting to think of New Year’s resolutions to put into action for 2016. Why not make your New Year’s resolution focused around cleaning and keeping your space tidy? Below are some excellent tips to follow to get in the habit of completing daily:
Make your bed:
A crisply made bed can make your entire room seem more orderly and in place. Remember cleanliness begets cleanliness.
Manage your clutter:
When you leave a room, take a second to make sure anything hasn’t been left where it shouldn’t be. Instead of leaving rooms disorganized and out of place, pick up things and put them where they belong.
Sort your mail:
Leaving mail untouched and unopened for a couple of days may be something we are all guilty of. Take a few minutes out of your day and open, read, and sort the mail as soon as you bring it inside. Keep a trash bin near your sorting area for junk mail, and drop the other mail into a personal pile, bills pile, catalogs file or miscellaneous file.
Clean as you cook:
Rather than filling the sink with pots and dishes, wash them or put them in the dishwasher as you prepare your meal. This will make cleaning time go by quicker.
Sweep the kitchen floor:
Every evening, after you’ve finished washing up after dinner, sweep the floor. This will take a couple of minutes and will keep tough-to-clean dirt and grime from building up.
