The holiday season can take a toll on the kitchen, and the holidays give you a good excuse to neglect the usual cleaning chores. However, once the holidays are over it’s time to get back to reality and reset the kitchen for the new year. Here are some great tips on how to accomplish that:
- Stove fan filter: changing the stove fan filter ensures that the air which gets blown into the kitchen is clean. You can either wash the existing filter or replace it with a brand new one.
- Deep oven clean: now is that time of the year to clean the oven from every side and angle that you can think of. If possible, disconnect the oven and pull it back from the wall so that you can get behind it. Don’t be afraid to poke your head inside the oven to seek out the dirt and grime that has built up over time.
- Treat wooden tools: the wooden tools can be the workhorses of the kitchen but they are much more prone to damage than stainless steel. Wash and thoroughly dry them to remove any bacteria. Also, apply mineral oil all over the outside of the wooden tools. This process increases the longevity of these vital kitchen tools.
